Police arrest man after class B drugs and cash found in raid on home on Salisbury Road in Totton
A MAN was arrested after an early morning police raid uncovered a large haul of class B drugs and cash at a Totton home.
Having swooped on the address on Salisbury Road just before 7am on Monday 4th November, police said the operation sent out a clear message that suspected drug-related activity would not be tolerated.
Totton and New Forest Heart neighbourhood policing officers teamed up with the New Forest Priority Crime Team, along with police dog Benji and his handler, PC Plummer.
They arrested an 18-year-old local man on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled class B drug. He was later released under investigation as enquiries continued.
Sgt Rob Blake, of Totton neighbourhood policing team, explained the raid was carried out as a result of intelligence received from the public.
Vowing officers would continue to respond to such tip-offs, he urged people to continue alerting them to any suspected criminality in the Totton area.
“We will always look to tackle drug-related activity in our communities, but we can only do so with the support and information of those who live in the affected areas,” Sgt Blake said.
“As our eyes and ears on the ground, please continue to let us know about activity in the areas in which you live.
“The more information you share with us, the more we can develop this, and the more action we can take, including the execution of warrants and the targeting of suspected criminals causing the most harm to our communities."
Anyone with information about drug-related activity in their neighbourhood can get in touch online via hampshire.police.uk or call 101, but 999 should be dialled in an emergency.
