Arrest after collision on Avon Causeway, between Hurn Roundabout and Pitthouse Lane, at Christchurch




A MOTORIST has been arrested after a crash which closed a stretch of the Avon Causeway at Christchurch yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon.

Police and paramedics responded to the incident, which took place shortly after 2pm between Hurn Roundabout and Pitthouse Lane.

No serious injuries were reported, according to a spokesperson for the Dorset force, and no details were available as to the number of vehicles involved.

Officers arrested a 65-year-old man from Ferndown on suspicion of a driving offence before later releasing him on bail pending further enquiries.

Traffic was reported to have been solid along Christchurch Road and Parley Lane as the closure remained in place for over two hours.
