Annual sculpture hunt raised £6k for Lymington Royal British Legion

CELEBRATED Lymington sculptor Michael Turner has raised almost £6,000 for the Royal British Legion after organising a community treasure hunt and auction.

Every year, Michael hides 11 poppies around the New Forest to mark Remembrance Sunday before posting picture clues on his Instagram and Facebook pages. Art fans can then race to find the hidden blooms, which they can keep in exchange for a donation to the RBL.

The two-part event also included an auction of 11 handcrafted steel flowers, along with prizes donated by local businesses including an overnight at Chewton Glen Hotel and a bespoke spa day at Lime Wood Hotel. All proceeds from the auction have been donated to the RBL.

Your dedication to the Royal British Legion is truly inspiring, and I can't wait to see what we can achieve next year.”
