A338 spur road to partially close for four-night clean-up
THE A338 will be partially shut for four nights this week for its twice yearly clean-up.
The southbound side of the spur road will close between Ashley Heath and Bournemouth's Cooper Dean roundabout from 9pm-6am both today (Monday) and tomorrow.
It will shut on the northbound side at the same locations and time on Wednesday 2nd November and Thursday 3rd November.
Dorset Council workers will be cutting grass and cleaning up the verges, with diversion routes signposted.
Cllr Ray Brian, Dorset Council's cabinet member for highways, travel and environment, said: “The closure of the road overnight helps protect our crews who will be working hard to clean up the road, so we thank all the road users in advance for their understanding
“This twice-yearly deep-clean makes the A338 safer for drivers and helps protect the natural environment from the litter that is sadly dumped on the roadside.
"Not only is this rubbish dangerous and unsightly, but it can pollute the soil and ultimately water courses.”
