'Help us stop knife crime' plea after teen's arrest for blade offence in Calmore
PEOPLE are being urged to help police stop knife crime after a 16-year-old boy was arrested for allegedly possessing an offensive weapon following a disturbance in Calmore.
Officers responded to reports of an altercation between a group of youngsters outside a home in Oldbarn Close during a mass gathering in the area around 7.30pm last Thursday.
Detained on suspicion of being in possession of a blade in a public place, the teenager was later released under investigation pending further police enquiries.
A spokesperson for the Hampshire force said afterwards: “Carrying knives can be linked to serious and organised criminal activity.
“Help us #StopKnifeCrime and report any concerns to us on 101 with details, or independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
