16-year-old arrested after drugs and knife seized in early-hours police search in Water Lane, Totton

A TEENAGER was arrested after drugs and a knife were uncovered in an early-hours police stop-and-search in Totton.

Having spotted two men acting suspiciously while on patrol in Water Lane at around 1.30am, officers spoke to them and detained them for a search.

They found and seized class B drugs and a knife, leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old boy from Southampton.

Held under suspicion of possessing a class B substance and possessing a blade in a public place, he was later released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Calling on the public to report suspicious activity, a Hampshire police spokesperson said: “You are our eyes and ears out in the local community and your role in helping us help protect you, is vital.

“If you notice unusual activity in your streets, or you are concerned about someone carrying a knife, please let us know, either by calling 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
