FOUR animals owned by New Forest commoners have been killed on the roads following a series of accidents in the last fortnight.
A bay mare was fatally injured on the C10 at Vereley Hill around 10.30pm on Wednesday 26th February.
The animal, which was wearing a reflective collar at the time of the collision, had to be destroyed by an agister because of the severity of its injuries.
On Monday 2nd March, a brown mare was killed on the same road near Picket Post at 10.50pm.
Last Thursday a calf was injured and had to be destroyed following an accident on the B3056 at Shatterford at 6.10pm.
The following day a chestnut gelding was killed on the B3078 at Longcross at 11.50pm.
