POLICE have released the name and a picture of a missing jet-skier who disappeared after leaving Lymington three days ago as the search for him continues.
Elezaj Shkelzen was last seen at 6pm on Tuesday when he set off from the town’s coast, heading towards Langstone Harbour.
Fears for the safety of the 33-year-old from Oxfordshire have grown since the coastguard found his jetski abandoned in the water off Stokes Bay about two hours later.
As reported in the A&T, the white-and-burgundy Yamaha Waverunner, with a ‘201 Langstone Harbour’ sticker, had its killcord detached, and a mobile phone was also on board.
Gosport independent lifeboat scoured the area, along with Ryde Inshore Rescue, Bembridge RNLI lifeboat, a coastguard helicopter, the Hillhead, Ventnor and Bembridge coastguard rescue teams and Calshot RNLI Lifeboat.
Now, police are urging people to come forward if they have any information that can help them trace Mr Shkelzen’s whereabouts.
“We and our colleagues in the coastguard have been making enquiries over the last few days but are now turning to you for your help,” said a spokesperson for the Hampshire force.
“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a jetski being ridden in the Solent between Milford-on-Sea and Stokes Bay.”
Mr Shkelzen was wearing a light grey and white hoody, dark Adidas shorts and a camouflage waterproof jacket. He may have had an orange lifejacket with him.
Those with information should contact officers on 101, quoting incident reference number 44200293979.
