POLICE are hunting a man wanted in connection with an attempted murder in Lymington.

The 30-year-old victim was attacked in Lower Buckland Road in the early hours of last Thursday morning.  He was taken to hospital where he is said to be fighting for his life.

Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries to establish exactly what happened and have arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder.

He has since been released on bail but police have said they also want to speak Brockenhurst man Martin Williamson (45) and have appealed for the public’s help to find him.

He is described as being white, around 6ft tall, with short brown hair and brown eyes. He has a dragon tattoo on his right arm and chest and a tattoo of a flower on his left arm.

Det. Insp. Steve Spencer said: “We’ve been carrying out several enquiries and believe Martin is still in the New Forest area, so please keep an eye out for him.

“We’ve got extra officers on patrol in the area, so if you have any concerns, please go and talk to them.

“If you see him call 999 immediately, please do not approach him.”
