Police make arrest in three-month hunt for street attack suspect

Police arrested a man on Sunday in connection with a serious assault in Lymington in October

POLICE hunting a man since October after a serious assault in Lymington have made an arrest.


Officers apprehended a 45-year-old Brockenhurst man on suspicion of wounding with intent, Hampshire Constabulary confirmed this morning (Monday).

Posting on Facebook, New Milton police said: “You may remember an appeal we made last month, following a serious assault on a 30-year-old man in Lower Buckland Road, Lymington, on Thursday 31st October.

“On Sunday, officers arrested a 45-year-old man from Brockenhurst on suspicion of wounding with intent, as part of this investigation.

“He remains in police custody.”

As reported in the A&T, officers carried out extensive enquiries to establish what happened in the incident.

They had already arrested a 42-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. He was released on bail.
