Lymington Players kick off centenary year with Secondary Cause of Death at Malt Hall Theatre
LAUGHTER, mystery and murder are on the cards as Lymington Players return to the Malt Hall Theatre for a six-night run of Secondary Cause of Death.
This year’s Lymington Players season is particularly special, because it marks 100 years of theatre in the town, and to celebrate, the amateur group has pulled out all the stops for a truly memorable season of plays.
From 10th to 15th November, they will stage Secondary Cause of Death, the hilarious follow-up to last season’s sell-out success Murdered to Death. This next instalment in Peter Gordon’s brilliantly funny Inspector Pratt series promises to deliver another evening of laughter, mystery and mischief.
Set in the 1930s at the country home of Colonel Charles Craddock, the play sees the ever-befuddled Inspector Pratt return to untangle a fresh web of intrigue. With a colourful cast of guests, suspicious circumstances, and a death that raises more questions than answers, the scene is set for a classic whodunnit – but with a delightfully comedic twist.
Audiences will have the chance to see some familiar faces from Murdered to Death reprising their roles, bringing back the charm and chaos that made last season such a hit. At the same time, the Lymington Players are thrilled to welcome several new cast members, adding fresh energy and talent to this fast-paced production.
Director Kate Hall said: “After the incredible response to Murdered to Death, we couldn’t wait to dive back into Peter Gordon’s world. Secondary Cause of Death is packed with clever wordplay, eccentric characters and plenty of surprises. It’s a joy to rehearse and will be even more fun for our audiences.
“Whether you’re a fan of murder mysteries, British farce, or simply looking for a great night out, this production is not to be missed.
“The Lymington Players have built a reputation for delivering high-quality, entertaining theatre – and this show is set to be another crowd-pleaser.”
Secondary Cause of Death will be on stage at The Malt Theatre at Lymington Community Centre from Monday 10th to Saturday 15th November at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £14. To book visit www.lymingtonplayers.co.uk
