LOCAL musicians will share the spotlight at a Pennington pub as the one-day Summer Wheel Fest returns next month.

The 11-hour musical marathon at the New Wheel Inn at Bowling Green is set to take place on Saturday 3rd August from midday.

“To date Seven Wheel Fests have been held at the New Wheel Inn and all have proved extremely popular and great successes. The eighth Wheel Fest will have a similar format with local musicians and bands performing through the day.

The musical line-up features Jonathan at midday, Twelve & Six at 12.45pm, Ukerjax at 1.30pm, Empty Frets at 2.15pm, Emily at 3.15pm, World Gone Wrong at 4pm, The Dekoratorz at 5pm, Captain Crackers & The Curiosities at 6pm, Behind The Mask at 7pm, Bish-Bash-Bosh! at 8pm and Magikat at 9pm.

Ian added: “Previous events have usually been lucky with the weather with daytime performances in the pub garden, although last year some of the outdoor acts had to continue through heavy showers with some of the audience dancing in the rain

“If the weather is really inclement there is the option of musicians and bands performing inside the pub.”

Admission is free and barbecue food will be available to buy. The family-friendly day will also feature a children’s play area and a bouncy castle. Car parking is available in fields adjacent to the pub.
