What’s On: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Mayflower Theatre, Southampton
BRITAIN’S Got Talent winners Ashley Banjo and Diversity are preparing to step up for this year’s Southampton Mayflower Theatre panto Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Playing the roles of Prince Ashley and The Royal Guards, their appearance follows previous panto stints at Southend’s Cliffs Pavilion and the London Palladium.
Panto stalwart Christopher Biggins will also return as The Man in the Mirror, having last performed in panto at the venue in 2008. The cast will also include award-winning actor and stand-up comedian, Kev Orkian and musical theatre performers, Kirsty Ingram and Rachel Stanley.
Diversity shot to fame in 2009 when they won Britain’s Got Talent and since then – under the leadership of Ashley Banjo, founder, choreographer, and creative director – they have consistently pushed the boundaries of dance and creativity.
Ashley was made an MBE in the New Year Honours 2022 for services to dance, and the same year the dance sensations performed for the late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at her Platinum Jubilee concert.
Mayflower Theatre chief executive Michael Ockwell said: “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be spectacularly brought to life with an abundance of comedy, sensational song and dance numbers, fabulous costumes and stunning scenery.
“Throw in a magical mirror, the magnificent seven and plenty of audience participation and you have the perfect recipe to outwit the Wicked Queen and let love prevail in this glittering festive treat for all ages.”
“On top of Biggins and Diversity, I am delighted that the hilarious Kev Orkian alongside Kirsty Ingram and Rachel Stanley will mean our star cast is once again providing the very best in festive cheer to our audiences from far and wide.”
