Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton to host concert by the Changing Colours Jazz Orchestra
The music of Woody Herman and Glenn Miller will feature in a Sunday afternoon jazz concert at Hanger Farm Arts Centre.
Performed by the Changing Colours Jazz Orchestra, the show will also highlight the music of Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Buddy Rich, as well as hits from Broadway musicals.
The orchestra comprises a group of proficient musicians, including several professionals.
Changing Colours Jazz Orchestra spokesperson Brent Vaughan said: “We are a local collective of 17 professional quality musicians with the aim to entertain audiences with well-known songs from Hollywood films and Broadway musicals.
“We have two female vocalists Simone Smith and Sarah Bolter, who add diversity and colour to performances, and we feature soloists throughout.
“Our concerts provide an exciting and nostalgic tour of big band music throughout the ages, drawing from the libraries of Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, Glenn Miller, plus many more.”
The concert will take place at Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton on Sunday 12th January at 4pm.
Since 2018, Hanger Farm has been operated by Minstead Trust as a social enterprise. Its aims are to generate support for the trust’s charitable work and to provide vital training and development opportunities for people with learning disabilities, from working in the café and bar to learning about theatre technology and supporting events.
Thanks to its partnership with Minstead Trust, Hanger Farm is able to showcase accessible arts alongside mainstream entertainment.
