The Bowie Show comes to Pavilion in Bournemouth

A CONCERT celebrating the music of David Bowie will come to Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre next month.

From the alter-ego of Ziggy Stardust, through the dark and desolate years of Berlin, the pure joy of Let’s Dance to the genius of Blackstar, the Bowie Show promises to take audience members on an emotional rollercoaster, transporting them to pasts and futures unknown.

Exploring the fashion and musical treasure trove of a man who recorded the classic album Hunky Dory at only 23 years of age, the production curates his legacy in a vibrant rock ‘n’ roll show.

At the heart of the production is an exceptional band performing Bowie’s greatest hits. It also features world-class dancers, elaborate costumes, set against a background of dramatic landscapes and thought-provoking visuals.

Combining original twists and unique storytelling visions, the show pulls together the strands of Bowie’s fragmented life, treating audiences of all ages to a night of breathtaking, unexpected and ‘other worldly’ performance.

Hailed as one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, Bowie constantly re-invented his persona and sound. His career gained momentum in the 1960s with Space Oddity, then in thje 1970s as Ziggy Stardust and the Thin White Duke. He was born David Jones in 1947 but reinvented himself as David Bowie in 1966, so as not to be confused with Davy Jones of the Monkees’.
