ABBA singalong will be led by Bournemouth Symphony Chorus musical director Gavin Carr
Choirs and solo singers of all abilities are invited to take part in a day-long event dedicated to the music of 1970s supergroup ABBA.
The Big ABBA Singalong will take place at Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth on Sunday 11th February. Organisers are promising the event will be an inspiring day of many voices joining together to sing some of the best-known pop lyrics in history.
The singalong will be led by Bournemouth Symphony Chorus musical director Gavin Carr, who is also founder-director of Chorus Angelorum.
Well known for his humour and bringing a light touch to workshop days, Gavin is also a guest conductor with the BBC Symphony Chorus.
The Big ABBA Singalong is organised and hosted by Rising Voices Wessex – a community choir for people whose lives have been affected by cancer. The event is supported by the Hendy Foundation Trust.
The show runs from 9.30am to 5pm, with a performance which will also be open to all at 4pm.
Rising Voices Wessex trustee, Noeline Young, said: “This will be a wonderful day of singing and socialising, featuring different musical sessions during which we will learn and perform many well-known songs from ABBA, including I Have a Dream, Dancing Queen and of course, Thank You for the Music.
“Our talented musical accompanist will be Rising Voices Wessex Patron Christopher Dowie, and Gavin and Christopher will be joined by Wendy Morrow and Mark Anstead - musical directors for Rising Voices Wessex – for the final performance. We will all be in great hands!”
Tickets for the day are £20 per person. Tickets for the 4pm performance are £5.
