As part of the six-figure investment, the pub will be “reaffirmed as a central community space” and see the launch of a new menu.

Ashley Williams, general manager of The Old Farmhouse, said: “We are beyond excited for the pub to undertake this major refurbishment and can’t wait to reopen to the community.

“The Old Farmhouse we will remain the local community pub we have always been and guests, both old and new, are sure to love our new offering

“The revamp will bring a revived atmosphere to the pub, and we’re confident that with our improved facilities we’ll be proud to offer our guests an even better drinking, dining and social experience.”

A competition has been launched online to find ‘Totton’s local hero’, who will have the privilege of cutting the ribbon at the grand opening. To make a nomination, visit The Old Farmhouse Totton Facebook page.

The investment also means a number of jobs will be up for grabs, and the pub is recruiting for a variety of positions, including front of house, back of house and team leaders.

Anyone interested should email their CV to 7880@greeneking.co.uk or drop by the pub.
