Political comedian Matt Forde brings Work in Progress show to Forest Arts, New Milton

POLITICAL satirist and TV comic Matt Forde will visit New Milton’s Forest Arts with his Work in Progress show.

Known as one of the UK’s top political comics, Matt has appeared in the Royal Variety Performance and on TV shows including Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week, Rory Bremner’s Coalition Report and Election Report, and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

Matt began his comedy career at the age of 16 in 1998 when he began performing in his home town of Nottingham while working for the East Midlands Labour Party.

With his political views at the very core of his stand-up, Matt debuted his hour-long show, Dishonourable Member, at the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe.

As well as touring his latest show, Matt is currently writing on the new series of Spitting Image as well as voicing the puppets of Boris Johnson, Keir Starmer and Donald Trump.

He hosts the Political Party which was recently listed as the Number 1 political podcast by Mace magazine and his other podcast, British Scandal, regularly tops the Apple podcasts chart.

His debut book Politically Homeless was an Amazon bestseller and was listed as one of the Sunday Times Political Books of the Year.

Over the years Matt has interviewed some of the most significant figures in UK politics including Tony Blair, Alastair Campbell, Nigel Farage, Michael Portillo, Dame Tessa Jowell, John Prescott, Alan Johnson, David Davis, Stella Creasy, Jack Straw and George Galloway.
