New Wheel Inn in Pennington to host Wheel Fest
LIVE music is set to pulse from a Pennington pub as the one-day Wheel Fest returns after a pandemic hiatus.
The 11-hour musical marathon at the New Wheel In at Bowling Green will be on the bank holiday of Friday 3rd June, from midday.
Organiser Ian Halliday said: “The event provides an opportunity for local musicians and bands to perform to an invariably enthusiastic audience.
“There is a full programme of acts from midday with an eclectic mix of folk, Americana, rock and pop music.
“We had some amazing music festivals at the Wheel Inn in 2019 so everyone is really looking forward to being back and performing again.”
The musical line-up features Fourfold at midday, Free-Wheelers at 12.50pm, Ukerjax ukulele quartet at 1.40pm, The Wafoos at 2.30pm, The Hobos at 3.20pm, Angus at 4.10pm, The Dekz at 5pm and Devil’s Courthouse at 5.50pm.
In the evening there is Rosie at 6.40pm, Cheese and Weasels at 7.15pm, Jomo at 8.05pm, Jonathan at 8.55pm and Empty Frets at 9.45pm.
Ian added: “Previous events have been lucky with the weather with daytime performances in the open air.
“For the event next week a large marquee will house the performing stage with indoor and outdoor seating. Food options will include a hog roast and barbecue.”
Admission is free and parking will be available in adjacent fields. All performers play for free with donations pledged to support the New Forest for Ukraine appeal.
