Milton Musical Society to perform Once Upon A Time at Forest Arts, New Milton
VILLAINOUS outlaws and fairy tale heroes will do battle in Milton Musical Society’s autumn production Once Upon A Time.
Speaking ahead of the group taking to the stage at New Milton’s Forest Arts, society chair Kirsti Warne said: “The story tells of friendships, feuds, loves won and lost and is the ultimate tale of good over evil.
“This jukebox musical contains music from both old and new including Oklahoma, Heathers, Waitress and Guys and Dolls, to name but a few.”
Set in the village Of Old Nimlot, life is wonderful for the villagers, including Mrs Tubbs who runs the tea shop, Bella and her friends Jaz, Ruby and Ali, and Lady Goodmother, the village mayor.
However, a night out at the local Palais ends up with some uninvited guests causing trouble. Having been banished to the Forbidden Forest years before, Mel and her bunch of outlaws are out to take control of the village and this evening out seems to be just the opportunity she needs.
The show has been written, directed and choreographed by Kirsti and Emma Hardy, with Charles Henry as producer and Jo Kent as musical director.
Kirsti said: “The cast have worked so extremely hard to bring this show which is most definitely not a panto to life, they have embraced the characters and our vision with open arms and have really put everything into making this show the funny, warm hearted and entertaining comedy we envisaged when we wrote it.”
Once Upon a Time contains adult themes and mild swearing and is on stage at Forest Arts from 20th to 23rd November, at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday. Tickets are £16. For more information and bookings visit https://www.forest-arts.co.uk or call 01425 619983.
