The two-day Sham Rocks Festival will be at Fawcett’s Field on 10th and 11th May
TOP tribute acts and rising stars will have a chance to shine at the inaugural Sham Rocks Music Festival in New Milton.
Taking place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May, the two-day music spectacular has been masterminded by Firefly Festivals to feature a programme of top tribute performances and original new music. Oakhaven Hospice is set to benefit from a share of proceeds as the event’s charity partner.
A highlight of the festival programme will be a GiG Bar area featuring a “future headliner” stage for original music from solos and duos. Described as a space where up and coming talent can meet with industry professionals such as agents and promoters, the GiG Bar will showcase musicians from Waterbear College, as well as local talent.
Firefly Festivals CEO Emer Druce said: “There is also a chance for local soloists and duos to get involved – we’d love to hear from anyone local who would love this chance to kickstart their musical career.”
Turning to the programme of tribute artists, the event will be headlined by Flash as Queen on Saturday night; and Are You Ready For Love, featuring Charles Duke as Elton John.
Other festival highlights will include Madonna by Vicky Cluskey, Lady Gaga by Maybe Gaga, and Juno Rising appearing as Alanis Morissette.
There will also be Britpop favourites from The 45s, Rock Anthems from Majestix; and a set from 90s Club Anthems; while Nevaeh will be belting out her tribute to The X Factor and The Voice during a Girl Power set.
There will also be plenty for families with Music from The Movies, The Ogretones performing songs from the Shrek series, and Snow Princess Parties making an appearance. Bouncy castles and inflatable slides will keep children entertained. Food and drink stalls will also be available.
Sham Rocks will be at Fawcett’s Field on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May. Adult day tickets cost £12, with weekend tickets available for £22.
