Lymington sailing flotilla set for The Towers party in Yarmouth, Isle of Wight
FLOTILLAS of sailing boats and RIBs are set to depart from Lymington next weekend as hundreds of locals join the annual The Towers charity party and concert in Yarmouth.
Isle of Wight businessman John Caulcutt hosts the annual party in the grounds of his Yarmouth home, raising tens of thousands of pounds for charity each year.
This year The Towers party and rock concert will take place on Friday and Saturday 4th and 5th July.
On Friday a seated rock concert will feature live music from rock ’n’ roll masters Blue Water Giants. The band includes Josh Phillips from Procol Harum, John ‘Rhino ’Edwards from Status Quo, Neil Taylor from Tears for Fears and the Robbie Williams band, Sam Tanner from Brothers Strutt, Freddie Edwards from Procol Harum and Craig Alexander from multiple leading bands.
They will be supported by Jamaican superstar Derek Sandy and the Wight Hot Pipes. Tickets are £50 to include an Indian meal and arrival drink – music from 9pm with a firework display at the end of the evening
On Saturday The Towers summer party will feature live music from White Gates Band, Lucia Phillips and Mosaic, Wight Hot Pipes, Jack Russell and Step On the Gas.
John said: “This fantastic fundraising party features three bars, a magnificent fireworks display and five fantastic live bands to dance to all evening long.
“Last year, a record £122k was raised for the Towers' chosen charities Cure Parkinson's and the Motor Neurone Disease Association, whom Towers will once again be supporting this year.”
