Lists: A Lost and Found, Coda, Walkford

PAPERCUTTING artist and collector Kyleigh Orlebar has launched a new exhibition at Coda music and arts centre in Walkford.

Kyleigh Orlebar is a talented papercut artist who creates unique designs from her home studio in Dorset and hosts workshops across the region. Her show Lists: A Lost and Found delves into the art of the list – something seemingly ordinary, which can also prove deeply personal and revealing.

Whether they are to-do lists for organising our lives or for mundane tasks like shopping, Kyleigh uses the show to explore the everyday practice. For the past 20 years, she has been curating a unique collection of lists – those lost and found, public and private, each telling a story about its creator.

Now, she shares some of her most treasured finds in this exhibition, showcasing the humour, humanity and individuality behind them.

A spokesperson for Coda said: “As the festive season approaches and list-making becomes a ritual for many of us, Lists: A Lost & Found will resonate even more strongly. Visitors to the exhibition are also invited to contribute their own lists, which will become part of this evolving collection.”

Kyleigh will also host a Christmas decoration workshop at Coda in December. Her book Papercutting Tips and Techniques is a guide to all things papercutting: from choosing the right paper and scalpel to the best ways to display a papercut.

Lists: A Lost and Found is exhibited at the new gallery space which has been created at Coda as part of a £1m investment from public and private funders, including Arts Council England, New Forest District Council, Talbot Village Trust, Sovereign Housing and individual donors.

The exhibitions continues until the end of December at Coda, Chewton Farm Road, Walkford, Christchurch, BH23 5QL. For more information on Coda Music and Arts Trust visit www.coda.org.uk
