Ashley Banjo and Diversity back in Southampton for Mayflower Theatre’s panto, Jack and The Beanstalk
STREET dance superstars Ashley Banjo and Diversity will be back in Southampton this December for the Mayflower Theatre’s giant panto extravaganza, Jack and The Beanstalk.
This year the Britain’s Got Talent winners are set to lead the cast as Jack and the Trot Family, alongside award-winning actor and stand-up comedian Kev Orkian as the comical Silly Simon.
The panto will also star West End performers Matt Rixon as Dame Trot, Anne Smith as the evil Mrs Blunderbore, Jacqueline Hughes as the magical Spirit of the Beans, and Lauren Hampton as the loveable Princess Jill.
Jack and the Beanstalk is staged by Crossroads Pantomimes, the creative team behind last year’s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which starred Ashley Banjo and Diversity and Kev Orkian.
Doomed to sell his trusty cow, in this year’s adventure Jack will fight to outwit the evil giant, win riches beyond his wildest dreams, and earn the hand of the girl he loves.
The show will be spectacularly brought to life by sensational song and dance numbers, fantastic special effects, magic beans and bundles of audience participation. It will feature fabulous set and costumes created for The London Palladium production transfer to Southampton.
The cast is completed by Grace Burrows, Joshua Egan, Regan Garcia, Albert Green, Cruz-Troy Hunter, Jacob Morrish, Eden Phillips, Jessica Pickles, Ellie Tames, and India Taylor as the ensemble, with Scott Coltman and Lauren Hartley as understudies.
Under the leadership of Ashley Banjo as founder, choreographer, and creative director, Diversity won Britain’s Got Talent over 15 years ago and since then have gone from strength to strength.
The BAFTA-award-winning group has sold well over half a million tickets across their 10 sell-out UK tours. Ashley was awarded an MBE in the 2022 New Year’s Honours List for services to dance.
Jack and the Beanstalk will be on stage at Southampton Mayflower Theatre from Saturday 14th December to Sunday 5th January. Tickets are priced from £19.50. To book visit www.mayflower.org.uk or call the box office on 02380 711811.
