Hit Edinburgh Festival Fringe show Girls Night Out with Flat & the Curves comes to Christchurch Regent Centre
HIT Edinburgh Fringe Festival show Girls Night Out, starring comedy girl gang Flat & the Curves, will visit Christchurch Regent Centre next week.
The five-star hit show, which is currently on a UK wide tour, has been described as Fascinating Aida for a new generation and featured on the BBC and in venues across the UK.
The stars of the show are Charlotte Brooke, Katy Baker, Arabella Rodrigo and Issy Wroe Wright, who have individually graced the West End and global stages before joining forces during lockdown to create Flat & The Curves. Their light-hearted, often cheeky self-penned songs revolve around feminist theme.
A show spokesperson said: “Brace yourself for a wild ride – our powerhouse, glittery cabaret is a fierce blend of outrageous vocals, relatable humour, and unapologetic horniness. We dish out tunes for the huns, tackling some of life’s most serious issues, like toxic masculinity, WhatsApp group chats, and dancefloor finger-banging.”
“Imagine if Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda teamed up with the Spice Girls and went on a wild hen-do in Blackpool. But we’re not all about L-plates, we can also be sentimental girlies, offering our hot take on the feminine zeitgeist.”
“Everything we write about has been inspired by our personal experience, our hope and intention is that the audiences find it as enjoyable and emotionally stimulating watching – in a laughter is medicine kind of way – as we do performing it.”
UK comedy guide Chortle describes the show as “one phenomenally entertaining anthem to womanhood after another,” adding it is “a near-perfect blend of relatable comedy, barnstorming musicality and bold feminist attitude”.
Girls Night Out with Flat and the Curves is at Christchurch Regent Centre on Wednesday 17th July at 7.30pm. Tickets are £23.
