SIXTIES superstar Lulu and former Earth, Wind and Fire guitarist Al McKay are set to headline music festivals in the grounds of two luxury New Forest hotels this summer.

Returning for the first time since 2019, the hugely popular one-day Smoked and Uncut festivals will pop up at The Pig in Brockenhurst on Saturday 18th June and Lime Wood Hotel near Lyndhurst on Saturday 23rd July.

Known as one of pop’s most vivacious and energetic stars, Lulu (pictured) has enjoyed a celebrated career in the music industry spanning more than 50 years.

Her biggest hits include To Sir with Love, the Man Who Sold The World, Relight My Fire and, of course, Shout.

After spending last summer appearing in a series of outdoor gigs with Boy George and Culture Club, the 1960s star is set to headline Smoked and Uncut at The Pig.

Topping the bill at Lime Wood Hotel will be the former Earth, Wind and Fire guitarist Al McKay who teamed with group founder Maurice White to pen the band’s seminal hits September and Sing A Song.

Al McKay has also played with the likes of Ike and Tina Turner and Sammy Davis Jnr.

Organisers are promising fine dining experiences and festive food offerings at both events, with everything from classic burgers to stone-baked pizza, a Pig barbecue and plentiful options for vegans and vegetarians.

The Chase Distillery horsebox will be serving up G&T, and Hambledon’s are set to bring along a double-decker bus bursting with their quaffable Hampshire fizz.

Ticket holders looking for a memorable dining experience can book a spot in the hotels’ restaurants to enjoy a four-course feasting menu dreamed up by Angela Hartnett and her culinary friends, with each chef preparing one course.

New to the event this year will be an apprentice field kitchen when the Pig’s up-and-coming stars will be preparing a delicious three-course menu under canvas using ingredients both from the hotel’s kitchen gardens and local suppliers.

Tickets are £53 for adults and £27 for children (aged 5-15). Visit www.smokedanduncut.com
