The Society has devised an entertaining evening of fun and frolics in the Regency style including sketches and songs with original words and music by member Richard Barnett.

The main event will be a comedy by Geoff Bamber entitled Pride, Prejudice and Other Useful Qualities, featuring all those well-known Austen characters including the colourful Bennet family, the naughty Captain Wickham, the arrogant Lady Catherine de Bourgh and of course, the smouldering Mr Darcy.

Director Jenny Green said: “Rehearsals have been great fun and the period costumes by Di Buck make the production sparkle.”

Lyndhurst Drama and Musical Society has been entertaining audiences since its first production in 1950, keeping theatre live at the heart of the New Forest. The group stages four shows a year covering many genres from drama to comedy and musicals to pantomimes.

Pride, Prejudice and Other Useful Qualities will be on stage at the Vernon Theatre, Lyndhurst, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12 and include a glass of prosecco or a non-alcoholic alterative. For more information and tickets visit lyndhurstdrama.co.uk or contact the box office on 02380 292 531.
