Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton will host The Christmassy Christmas Show of Christmassy Christmasness and The Captain Calamity Santamime Adventure

Festive family fun arrives at Hanger Farm Art Centre next week with the Christmassy Christmas Show of Christmassy Christmasness and the Captain Calamity Santamime Adventure.

The seasonal shows promise to be packed full of festive fun, presents, crackers, tinsel and puddings.

On Sunday 22nd December Squashbox Theatre will be at the Totton venue with the Christmassy Christmas Show of Christmassy Christmasness!

Hailed as a brand new celebration of everything Christmassy, from fir trees, fairy lights, sleigh bells and snowflakes to crackers, carols, presents and puddings, there will be two shows at 11am and 1pm.

Families can meet a snowman who lives in the fridge, try to spot some naughty elves, play Hunt the Brussels Sprout, endure the world’s worst Christmas jumper and gaze at the “beautiful” Christmas fairy. The audience will learn about Yuletide traditions old and new, hear the story of the first Christmas tree, and even explore some festive science.

The show is billed as an over-stuffed stocking of seasonal surprises crammed with puppets, songs, quizzes and comedy, and over-flowing with crazy characters, silly slapstick, tall tales and fantastic facts – all presented in unique Squashbox style.

Meanwhile, on Monday 23rd December Captain Calamity's plans for Christmas in Chocolate Button Bay will be disrupted with a call from the chief elf at the North Pole.

There's just not enough seasonal good cheer, magic and merriment in the world, and Santa's not sure the reindeer will fly if he doesn't get enough by Christmas Eve.

Cue Captain Calamity's signature magic and mayhem. Expect a symphony of disaster conducted by a very smelly dragon, a mad scientist, a travelling musical storyteller and the biggest buffoon of all, Captain Calamity.

Expect belly wobbling, jaw dropping family fun featuring baffling balloon bursting, beautiful bubbles, silly science, gigglesome games, cheeky tunes and plenty of sing-along festive favourites.

Family tickets to the the Christmassy Christmas Show of Christmassy Christmasness and The Captain Calamity Santamime Adventure are £30/£31 for a family of four.
