Blade Runner Live, BIC, Bournemouth
CLASSIC sci-fi film Blade Runner will be screened at the BIC with its masterpiece synthesiser score performed by a live orchestra.
Appearing at the Bournemouth venue as part of a live UK concert tour, the film will be screened on 24th September at 7.30pm – and we’ve teamed up with the venue to give away a pair of tickets to one lucky reader.
The 2007 final cut of Ridley Scott’s multi-Academy nominated film will be presented on a vast HD screen, while Vangelis’ score will be performed live by the Avex Ensemble in sync with the 1982 motion picture.
Blade Runner Live is billed as a new way to experience the cult film like never before. The incredible soundscape score is one of the most defining on film – heralded for both its 1980s sound, but also its evocative and futuristic elements that have seen it become a staple of cinema sound composition.
The stylish noir thriller sees detective Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) hunting four replicants, who have escaped from colonies and returned to earth. His mission, however, is complicated when he falls for Rachel (Sean Young); a replicant based at the Tyrell Corporation.
The original 2019 Royal Albert Hall performance of Blade Runner Live was hailed as a “whole new way to experience the movie”.
Lucy Noble, artistic director at AEG Presents, said: “It’s amazing after 42 years the film and soundtrack still stand the test of time. This will be a truly unique way for audiences to revisit this iconic piece of cinema with Vangelis’ iconic score as they’ve never experienced it before.”
Blade Runner Live is at Bournemouth International Centre on Tuesday 24th September with tickets available from £35.75.
