Laura van der Heijden and Jâms Coleman will be in concert at Ringwood’s Trinity Centre
Cello and piano duo Laura van der Heijden and Jâms Coleman will appear in concert in Ringwood.
Presented by Avon Valley Concerts, the evening will see Laura and Jâms appearing at the town’s Trinity Centre on Friday 31st October.
This will be the second concert in the season after a vibrant opening performance by the Lumas Winds.
Laura van der Heijden is an accomplished cellist who won the BBC Young Musician of the Year competition in 2012. Earlier this year she gave a wonderful performance of the Elgar cello concerto with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
Accompanying Laura will be Jâms Coleman, a pianist who regularly plays as a soloist, chamber musician and vocal accompanist at prestigious festivals in the UK and abroad.
Together the duo have recorded two albums, the latest of which, Path to the Moon, was released in 2024. It was described as “gently alluring, enigmatic and romantic”.
Laura and Jâms will perform a varied programme, including works by Milhaud, Boulanger, Fauré and Franck.
Avon Valley Concerts has a long-standing history of bringing high-quality classical music to the Ringwood and Fordingbridge area. The organisation celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, with the 41st season commencing this month.
The charity’s main remit is to provide low-cost classical concerts featuring professional national and international artists and ensembles. They typically present six evening concerts between September and April.
