A MAN was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm after two separate incidents involving a pair coming to blows in Christchurch.
The 26-year-old, from Hampshire, was also apprehended on suspicion of affray and assaulting an emergency worker following alleged incidents on Saturday afternoon.
The first, at 6.40pm, involved officers being called to an apparent fight involving two men at The Boathouse, in Quay Road, but it was then reported the men had left the area.
About five minutes later there was a further altercation involving the two men and a woman in Quay Road at its junction with Princess Avenue. It was claimed one of those involved was hit in the face with a large pebble.
A local man, aged in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment for a fractured foot, a cut lip and head injuries, Dorset Police said.
DC Sam Knight, of Bournemouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already spoken to police to please get in touch.
“I understand some people in the area filmed the reported assault on their mobile phones and I would urge them to please send this footage to us to assist with our investigation.”
