Fight in Christchurch sees man punched in throat and another in car collision

ONE man was punched in the throat and a car collided with another after a fight broke out in Christchurch on Sunday night.

The alarm was raised around 8.45pm, with reports of an assault involving two men in Dorset Road in Somerford.

After one of the men punched the other in the throat, one of them was said to have been involved in another altercation with a third man.

There was also a collision between a vehicle and one of the men, which resulted in him being taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police closed the road to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

Officers are investigating, but a spokesperson for the Dorset force said on Tuesday no arrests had been made.

Dorset Police was called at 8.45pm on Sunday 13th September 2020 to a report of an assault involving two men on Dorset Road in Christchurch,” the spokesperson said.

“It is reported that one of the men punched the other man in the throat. It was then further reported that one of the men was involved in another altercation with a second man.

“During the incident, it is reported that a collision occurred involving a vehicle and one of the men. The man was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

“The road was closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.”
