A BIKE chase resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug dealer who had a stash of cannabis hidden down his trousers.

Local police officer PC Wood was cycling on patrol in New Milton last night (Wednesday) when he spotted a suspicious man, also on a bicycle, who then tried to pedal away from him.

But a post on a local police Facebook page told how the officer managed to catch up with him and found he was carrying a quantity of the class B drug. He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

When he was taken back to his home address, the post went on to say, the suspect produced some more of the drug from down the front of his trousers. He was questioned, and enquiries are ongoing.

The post added: “Come to new Milton, he thought. Let’s deal some drugs. Sounds like a good idea! Wrong!”
