ONE more person has died with Covid-19 in the New Forest, according to the latest weekly numbers.
The total of people registered as having the virus involved in their death since the start of the year reached 125 – up from 124 – in an update released on Tuesday by the Office for National Statistics.
It represents a continued slowing of the death toll in the district after last week’s rise had reduced to two. Care homes still represented the most frequent location for people dying, amounting to 63.
In the BCP Council area, which covers Christchurch, Bournemouth and Poole, the cumulative Covid-19 death toll reached 178 – up by four from last week’s update. Hospitals accounted for 87 of those and care homes 82.
The numbers are for deaths that occurred up to 5th June but were registered up to 13th June.
