Pedestrian in serious condition after car collision in Highcliffe

A WOMAN is in a serious condition after a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Highcliffe this morning (Friday), according to police.


Witnesses reported the air ambulance landing near the scene of the incident on Wharncliffe Road, near the junction with Lymington Road, and about eight police cars.

Emergency services have attended the scene, close to the recreation ground, and the female pedestrian was taken to Southampton General Hospital.

Dorset Police said officers were alerted at about 10.30am to a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

A force spokesperson described her condition to the A&T as “serious”.

Road closures have been put in place to allow the emergency services to deal with the incident.

The police spokesperson added: “We would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding.”
