Police arrested the men after the theft on Friday

TWO men were arrested after a dog was stolen in West Parley.

The cockapoo, named Cookie, was said to have been taken while its owner was cutting the grass at an address in Longfield Drive last Friday morning. It has since been returned.

At the time it had been in an unlocked Volkswagen Transporter van parked on the corner of that street and New Road.

CCTV footage reportedly showed Cookie getting out of the van around 11.50am and walking towards someone who was hidden from view.

Police arrested a 32-year-old Poole man and a 36-year-old man from Wimborne on suspicion of theft. Today, both were helping officers with their enquiries.
