NOW in his 70th year of performing, internationally renowned jazz trombonist Chris Barber will play at Christchurch Regent Centre later this month.

Known as one of the last British Jazz legends, this year he also celebrates his 65th anniversary as leader of his band on a full-time professional basis.

The 10 piece Big Chris Barber Band, inspired by the great Ken Colyer Jazz Men, features everything from New Orleans to blues to late 20’s Ellington, played with extraordinary panache and skill.

During the concert Chris and his band will perform favourites like Bourbon Street Parade, Jubilee Stomp, Petite Fleur, Ice Cream, When the Saints Go Marching In and many more.

The concert is on Sunday 30th June at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £22.50 each but we’ve teamed up with the Regent Centre to give one lucky reader the chance to win a pair of tickets by answering the question in this week’s leisure competition.

For a chance to win simply pick up a copy of the A&T edition 14th June in the shops now. The closing date for entries is Friday 21st June.
