A NEW Forest care home found an innovative way for residents to see their loved ones in person safely for the first time since lockdown.

Families who had not been able to visit for nearly three months were invited to a special drive-through event at Gracewell of Sway to ensure everyone could comply with social distancing rules.

Residents sat outside the front of the home, enjoying snacks and drinks, while visitors stayed in their cars and slowly paraded past to spend some quality time with their relative.
Many vehicles were decorated with messages of love, bunting and posters.

Tania Rostand said: “It was just lovely to be able to see my mum face-to-face – seeing that she looks well and relaxed.

“I have really missed her a lot.”
