THERE has been a spate of 11 burglaries in five days at homes, garages and pubs in the Ringwood area.

The London Tavern pub and the Railway Hotel were among those targeted, as was the Sainsbury’s on Meeting House Lane. Eight further incidents at homes have happened since the early hours of Friday 6th November, Hampshire police said.

The first of those involved Burley Lodge stables on Thursday, with further thefts from two properties in Lyndhurst Road, Burley Road in Bransgore, Gorley Road and Green Lane, and garages at Burgate Court and Renoir Burgate Court on Salisbury Road.

Hampshire police said residents should be on their guard.

“The burglaries happened at various times throughout this period, largely affecting residential properties, but there were also instances of commercial properties also being targeted. It was mostly power tools and other small items that were stolen.

“We would like to hear from anyone with information on any of these incidents. Did you notice anything suspicious? Perhaps you saw someone hanging around the area? Anyone with information can phone 101, quoting the crime reference numbers.”

Officers advised homeowners to lock their shed or garage every evening, mark prized possessions with a forensic solution, ensure side gates are locked and record details of property – including serial numbers on electronic goods.

“You know your local communities. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, such as someone tampering with a lock on a neighbour’s shed, please report it to us via 101.”

  1. So why are police in speed Van’s and on call to conaviris instead of policing the communities keeping people safe in their homes and businesses which is what their roll used to be. Not feeling safe in your own home is worst ever feeling.
