SIR – In the last week I was told by my local GP practice that I had been referred for respiratory treatment to the Fenwick clinic.

Sir – My attention was directed to your front page article regarding the refusal by NFDC to allow Redrow to convert space at Lymington Shores.
Sir – Richard Grant asks why it is that some members of parliament receive knighthoods. All he has to do look up their citations online.

Sir – I read with interest your article 'Landowners urged to join homes push' (A&T, 30th December).
SIR – Letters highlighting the crises of housing for the young, "retirement" housing, and the need for convalescent homes were right on target.
SIR – Thanks for the two sensible and good letters about how sensible, observant people drive prudently past the ponies on Forest roads.
SIR – So the correspondent suggested that to ease housing shortages for young people, to allow flats for the elderly to be shared with young people?
Sir – Your front page article on pond ice skating (A&T, 16th December) caused my eyebrows to raise beyond their design criteria.

Sir – Mr Whitfield has a disciple in his anti-pine marten philosophy; Mr Walsh has the same narrow view on the subject of the marten.
Sir – Cllr Heron's suggestion that second-home owners should pay twice as much council tax is very unfair.
SIR – Lymington is getting an increasingly aged population due to the constant addition of retirement flats.
SIR – Isn't it strange that for its size, the pine marten is probably one of if not the biggest hunter-killer of wildlife in this country?
SIR – It mystifies me why the problems of the health service are not being rectified; it's the system that is wrong.
