TWO people were arrested after a Totton Lidl shop worker was assaulted when she confronted suspected shoplifters.
Police responded to reports that an attack had taken place in the Lidl store in Commercial Road, Totton, at around 5.45pm yesterday (Wednesday).
The victim, a 36-year-old woman from Southampton, was said to have been set upon by two people when she challenged them.
Following a search of the area, officers located the suspects in nearby Rumbridge Street.
They detained a 30-year-old woman from Marchwood on suspicion of shoplifting, common assault, and possession of cannabis.
A 36-year-old man from an unknown address was also arrested on suspicion of shoplifting and assault.
They were both still in custody this morning, according to a Hampshire police spokesperson.
