Southern Division One South: AFC Totton 2-2 Highworth Town
A BRACE from AFC Totton forward Silvano Obeng was enough to claim a 2-2 draw against Highworth Town at Snows Stadium.
Against the run of play, Totton got themselves in front on the 40th minute, after some great work by Liam Callaghan. He carried the ball across the edge of the box before entering the area on the right and took the ball to the by-line where he crossed low into the six-yard box.
Craig Feeney seemed to jump over the ball, allowing it to reach Obeng, who stuck out a leg to divert the ball past goalkeeper Conor Johns.
The game turned on its head when the Worthians scored twice in six minutes. In the 71st minute, a ball came into the Totton box from Arran Maximen on the right, and Dan Drewett touched the ball home at the near post.
On the balance of play, the goal was just reward for the visitors, who had spurned several good chances.
Highworth took the lead on 77 minutes when Edjidja Mbunga picked up the ball midway inside the Totton half. The tricky number seven went on a jinking run that saw him go past four Stags players, none of whom put in a decent challenge.
Once Mbunga reached the area, he unleashed a shot into the far side of the Totton net, it was a fine finish to round off a determined run.
Then with 85 minutes on the clock, the Stags salvaged a point when they were awarded a free-kick out on the right, five yards in from the corner flag. Masterton floated the ball into the six-yard box, and Obeng got in between two Highworth defenders to head home.
AFC Totton host Cirencester Town tomorrow in Southern Division One South.
