MOTORISTS face disruption for up to 10 nights while overnight carriageway resurfacing work is carried out on the main route between Ringwood and Fordingbridge.
From 16th November the A338 Salisbury Road will be closed between its junction with the A31 to approximately 150 metres south of Snails Lane from 8pm to 6am the following morning.
A letter sent to nearby residents by Hampshire County Council, and seen by the A&T, explained the work is part of its highway department’s Operation Resilience programme.
“The road will be open during the day and over the weekend,” the letter stresses, adding: “The works are programmed to start on 16th November and are expected to last for up to 10 nights, during which time the road will be closed to vehicular traffic.”
It continues: “Due to the current Covid-19 situation, works will be carried out ensuring safe working practices, and social distancing between site operatives and members of the public are maintained at all times.
“The appropriate traffic management will be in place to prevent any interaction.”
