New Forest Marathon

Now nationally recognised as the fifth best UK marathon, The New Forest Marathon has been the cornerstone of the running calendar since its conception back in 1982.

This year’s New Forest Marathon aims, once again, to inspire as many people as possible to take part and get active. Starting and finishing from New Park, Brockenhurst, races range from the full marathon to family-friendly options allowing for a wide-range of ages and abilities to experience the scenic multi-terrain courses. Events include:

Since 1982 the New Forest Marathon has raised well over £1.25 million for local good causes and aims to continue working with and supporting the local community in a sustainable way, inspiring activity across the New Forest area.

The event this year will be ‘more than just a marathon’ with many other attractions in The Race Village at the New Park showground for everyone to enjoy including main stage entertainment, technical traders, food and drink traders, kids’ activities, camping facilities, and much more.

The stunning venue has direct access onto the forest allowing us to create a true New Forest experience for local and visiting families whilst catering for different ages and abilities.   Our aim ‘to inspire as many people to be physically active as possible’ is shared by local key partners, New Forest District Council/Sport Hampshire and IOW, as well as national bodies Sport England, Run Britain and NHS Choices. By expanding our race choice offer, our event provides an excellent platform to fit with national campaigns to reduce obesity and inspire activity.

Whether you’re a local runner, supporter, or someone who just wishes to volunteer, come and join in and experience what is set to be an amazing day in the New Forest.

The Advertiser and Times are proud to be associated with The New Forest Marathon.
